IPA to hold annual convention next month

The Indonesian Petroleum Association (IPA) will hold its third annual convention and exhibition next month.

The conference will be held at the Jakarta Convention Center from May 5 to 7, IPA executive director Dipnala Tamzil told reporters Tuesday.

"The event will include an interesting plenary session discussing the impact of the crisis on the sector," Tamzil said.

He added that about 100 technical and nontechnical papers would be presented during the event.

Ananda Idris, chairman of the conference, said the event might also see the signing of new oil and gas contracts.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is scheduled to open the event.
