A fractured pre-tertiary Basement Reservoir Engineering Study
Year: 2010
Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., 34th Ann. Conv., 2010
Dayung field is a Pre-Tertiary fractured basement gas reservoir located in Corridor PSC, South Sumatra, Indonesia. The field was discovered in 1991 and commenced production in 1998. Eight wells are currently producing from the reservoir. As part of an ongoing effort to optimize field development, Dayung has undergone a significant re-characterization exercise and a new geomodel has been constructed. The characterization and geomodel were subjects of 2 papers presented in the IPA conferences of 2008 and 2009. A simulation model has also been constructed, history matched and used in the planning of the optimal future development of the reservoir. This paper describes the reservoir models construction, its history matching and the prediction studies performed. Dayung has amassed a significant amount of production and pressure data from over 10 years on production. This data was incorporated into the simulation model and used to history match the model. The paper describes the key element of this data and how the insights that the data offers have been incorporated into the geomodel and simulation models construction and history matching. The paper also describes the construction and history matching of different models to help represent a range of outcomes, reflecting the principle uncertainties on the reservoir. Finally the use of the model in performing a variety of studies to help optimally develop the reservoir, including work over evaluation and compressor sizing is described.
