Besitang River sand as the first turbidite reservoir in Indonesia
Year: 1982
Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., 11th Ann. Conv., 1982
The Middle Baong Sandstone (MBS) Unit is known as a productive unit in the AN area, North Sumatra. Geological studies of sedimentary structures, electric logs and thickness, indicate that the Besitang River sands of this unit arc turbidites within marine shale sequences of the Baong Formation. Production characteristics and reservoir features are quite significant. nuid properties and production performance encourage further potential in both structural and stratigraphic traps.
