The results of a biostratigraphycal study, by means of planktonic and larger Foraminifera of the Jatibungkus section are herein discussed.An Eocene sequence ranging from middle Eocene (zone P 14) to earliest Oligocene (zone P 17) is followed by an interval without sedimentation. The dimentation however, resumed in late Oligocene (zone N 2).The Karangsambung formation (an olistostrome) is here recognized as a true formation with a proper stratigraphical value.
