Chemicals for water injection systems

Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., 9th Ann. Conv., 1980

The use of water flood techniques in secondary oil recovery is of increasing importance today. The subsurface disposal of brines that result from the production of oil and gas is also practiced in most fields and is expected to be of increasing importance as the use of water flood techniques increase and flood water break through occurs. Several factors must be considered in the design of the treatment and injection facilities that will handle these waters. This paper will discuss the general types of equipment used in treating injection waters as well as the types of chemicals that are required to insure their smooth operation.
