Distribution and origin of carbon dioxide in the Song Hong Basin of offshore Vietnam
Year: 1997
Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., International Conference on Petroleum Systems of SE Asia and Australasia, 1997
The presence of carbon dioxide is considered a major risk factor in the exploration for hydrocarbons in the Song Hong Basin. It is proposed that the distribution and probable source for C02 can be predicted by the integration of several geological, geophysical and geochemical observations and therefore the risk of encountering C02 in portions of the Song Hong Basin can be reduced.
