The ejourney is a web-based transportation management system that enables us to review our journey management process and to challenge how we traditionally organized, tracked, and managed trips. All vehicles are being equipped with driving improvement monitors to monitor drivers performance and to view vehicles position at all times. A journey management center will monitor every trip, from departure to final destination, even if a vehicle stops or in case of emergency. An implementation in Schlumberger Central Sumatra land location is not only decreasing the number of automotive incidents, but also decreasing the total mileage driven. At the same time, it reduces risks and unnecessary trips. The location becomes the center of excellence in managing transportation. This paper shares best practices based on the program implementation, including the experiences of how the location manage local driving issues, create journey management, train drivers, install driving improvement monitors, set up journey management center and develop an organization to manage the system.
