Year: 1976
Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., 5th Ann. Conv., 1976
Electrical dehydration and desalting of crude oils are considered in terms of fundamental theory, laboratory studies and field operating expe rience with special attention directed at crude oils prodiked in Indonesia. The relative requirements of both crude oil producers and crude oil refiners for separation of water and salt from oilfield production are examined in terms of current technical and economic limitations. The conclusions are illustrated by examples taken from large commercial electrical units dehydrating and desalting crude oils now produced in Indonesia.
