Finding by-passed oil using the reservoir saturation tool in Lirik, South Sumatra
Year: 1993
Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., 22nd Ann. Conv., 1993
Inelastic Gamma Ray Spectroscopy is currently the only viable technique to distinguished oil and water in the low salinity environment such as there in Indonesia. Recent innovations in detector and accelerator technology along with the advanced data processing technique have resulted in a through tubing Induced Gamma Ray Spectroscopy device, the Reservoir Saturation Tool. This paper discussed the principles of measurement and the application of the Reservoir Saturation Tool in Lirik, South Sumatra, operated by PERTAMINA UEP-SBS.
