First Seismic Survey in Indonesia For The CCS Project Using Vibroseis as a Non-Explosive Seismic Source
Year: 2017
Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., 41st Ann. Conv., 2017
The Seismic team of the CCS (Carbon dioxide Capture and Storage) Research Project (Institut Teknologi Bandung, Kyoto University, Pertamina, and others) conducted a baseline 2D (two lines) and pseudo 3D seismic survey with seismic vibrator as the seismic source in early August 2016. This activity was funded by the SATREPS (Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development) Program from JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) and JST (Japan Science and Technology Agency). The seismic vibrator Y-2400 (BIRDWAGEN MARK-4B) was used for the energy source, whereas two recording systems, i.e. Suncoh GSS and Geospace GSR, were used to collect all data. Five hundred and nine (509) VP (vibro point) data were acquired from 719 receiver locations (fix spread) over 6 days of recording. Although the target of this survey was about 1.5 seconds, reflection up to 3 seconds can still be identified in the stack section after careful processing. Theresult shows the capability of seismic vibrators as a seismic source in this area.
