INPEX Masela, Ltd (INPEX) plans to develop the Abadi gas field located within the Masela Block in the Arafura Sea with a floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facility. The Floating LNG (FLNG) is designed to remain on-site for the entire design life of thirty (30) years without need for dry docking. The LNG supply chain of FLNG requires very careful production capacity calculation and integration of the all elements from the reservoir to LNG receiving terminals.
This paper presents the objectives, methodology, system boundaries, assumptions, parameters and the results of production integration model for the FLNG Facility. Process integrated RAM from the reservoir to LNG tanks at FLNG was modeled by MAROS software. Offloading downtime analysis was performed using ANySIM/CONDOR software to define offloading metocean criteria/availability at the near FLNG area. Shipping voyage simulations were prepared based on actual daily metocean conditions between FLNG and possible onshore LNG terminals in order to determine weather disturbance effects on voyage. Finally all aspects from production availability, offloading metocean conditions and shipping voyage were incorporated and integrated into the shipping logistic software “Witness”, in order to perform the stochastic LNG supply simulations from the reservoir to LNG receiving terminals.
This integrated stochastic LNG supply simulation model makes it possible to evaluate several LNG supply scenarios and determine the best configuration of the LNG supply chain system for the project.
