Impact of hydraulic fracturing Treatment for tight lower Pematang Sandstone Reservoir - Field Case Example
Year: 2009
Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., 33rd Ann. Conv., 2009
Lower Pematang formation has known as tight reservoir which has permeability within 0.1 - 5 mD. The reservoir pressure and temperature are 2800 psi and 300 degF with average depth 7000 ft. The formation thickness is 300 ft with interbeded sandshale. For almost 4 years, the opportunity to develop this reservoir is still questionable. Low reservoir productivity is the main issue that should be solved to optimize oil production. Recent successful effort has proved that hydraulic fracturing treatment can solve the productivity problem in Lower Pematang tight reservoir. Two wells that had been fractured contribute average 300 BOPD and 160 BOPD with natural flowing. This paper will show the new opportunity to produce oil from Lower Pematang tight sandstone reservoir. Production comparison between pre and post hydraulic fracturing treatment will be discussed. Evaluation of post hydraulic fracturing treatment will be presented as well. Real field example will be used to increase understanding of this study.
