Innovations with tubing conveyed perforating using Y Block assemblies
Year: 1993
Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., 22nd Ann. Conv., 1993
Tubing Conveyed Perforating (TCP) was first used by Vico in 1982 for simple single perforating jobs. Through technological advances, TCP assemblies have been used for Y-block perforating of middle zones with pressure firing systems. Now a safer, more cost effective method for gun detonation has been developed utilizing common wireline methods. This is important as completions become more complex with multiple zones in partially depleted reservoirs which require underbalanced perforating for control of formation damage.
