Interpretation of DST data through layered reservoir analysis combined with MDT data in a depleted gas reservoir

The Kubiki gas field, a turbidite reservoir with laminated sand-shale sequences located onshore in Japan, has been abandoned due to natural depletion associated with over 20-year production. Recently there has been a surge to redevelop the field as a natural gas storage tank to meet the increasing gas demand.This paper presents the anomalous pressure behavior observed during the DST in the newly drilled well. A close examination of DST data combined with MDT data provides one unique interpretation.
