Mid scale LNG development for monetizing stranded gas in Indonesia

Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., 30th Ann. Conv., 2005

Gas monetizing from stranded gas with medium gas reserves (40 to 200 MMSCFD) has been the main motivation for this study. An overview of mid-scale LNG was conducted in order to obtain appropriate technology as well as realistic cost estimation from available technologies. As the main LNG production driven by the refrigeration system, related technologies i.e.: Cascade, Mixed Refrigeration and Expander Cycle, were presented and discussed. Evaluation, cycle comparison as well as future development are shown in conjunction to others experience in previous application. Latest technology features and application were also discussed. Vendor outsourcing was also considered to deliver the most optimistic and reliable mid-scale LNG in the future.
