A new 6,500 km non-exclusive 2D seismic survey undertaken in the Makassar Straits by TGS-Nopec Geophysical Company in conjunction with Migas and Pertamina, has revealed new insights into the geological evolution and prospectivity of the North Makassar Straits. In particular, deepwater depositional elements such as basin floor fans and channel complexes have been identified within the Neogene section.
