Prediction of reservoir rock quality from core data analysis : Abstract

Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., 25th Ann. Conv., 1996

The quality of reservoir rock is determined by reservoir rock characteristics influenced by pore size, pore distribution and drainage efficiency.Using nine sand-core samples and ten carbonate-core samples, porosity and permeability were measured and mercury was injected into the samples with pressure ranging 3 to 2000 psi. Pore size, pore distribution and drainage efficiency can be determined by means of the capillary pressure data. The result of the test is follows : three sand-core samples are of good quality, two sand-core samples are of fair quality while the others are of poor quality.
