Waveform interpretation, aided by modeling (computer simulation), of phase-corrected seismic acoustic impedance logs has been used success fully to delineate porous zones in a lime stone reef. Ambiguities exist in the interpretation, for instance, porous dolomite can be mistaken for tight limestone.
