Sub-surface interpretation at proposed first deep wellsite, Citaman geothermal area, Banten, West Java

Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., 14th Ann. Conv., 1985

Integration of geological and geochemical data with re-interpreted geophysical data allow construction of a possible geologic section beneath BTN-1 (Loc.A) at Citaman Geothermal Area, Banten, West Java. Based on this section, depths are suggested for cores, casing shoe and extrapolated temperature measurements for the proposed deep well. These objectives are made to assist wellsite decisionmaking.A total depth of 2000m is suggested for this first deephole BTN-1, although a horizon with good permeability and high temperature (<, 260uC indicated by geothermometry of hot springs waters) may be found at depths of 900-1100m.A deeper intrusive body can be recognized from gravity and aero-magnetics data associated with this hot waterdominated system. This intrusive may be encountered by drilling below 2000m depth, and is a possible heat source for the Citaman system.
