The Middle Baong Sandstone Unit as one of the most prospective units in the Aru area, North Sumatra

The sandstone unit of the middle part of the Baong Formation is known to be productive at Tabuhan Barat, Telaga Said and Darat Oil Fields, and it is also proven to be hydrocarbon bearing at the new Besitang structure discovery. Further exploration efforts in the surrounding areas, will be directed to delineating structural closures, facies distributions, and over - pressured zones. These factors are considered useful in deciding the prospectiveness of this unit.
