Well Head Compressor:Well Selection, Performance, and Optimization by Practical Operation
Year: 2012
Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., 36th Ann. Conv., 2012
VICO Indonesia has been operated in Sanga-Sanga PSC since 1968. Currently most of VICO fields are categorized as mature fields. In compliance with BP Migas goals to support national energy security, VICO Indonesia has implemented renewal plans since 2007 to maintain gas production from each well. One sucessfull renewal plan has been the utilization of Well Head Compressor (WHC) to lower the abandonment pressure and increase gas recovery. In utilization of WHC, one of the important factors is how to determine WHC wells candidates. Based on reservoir characteristics, production history, and latest pressure data, critical wells are short-listed for flow testing to the pit (based on Coleman and turner rate). Well candidates for WHC can be chosen based on well performance during this test. Mobile WHC will be applied to the best performing well as field trial. Finally, permanent WHC is installed to replace mobile WHC. Producing well B-107L was one of the successful results of using WHC. Gas production increased 594 mscf and well life was extended with three years compare to its natural flow. Keyword: Wellhead Compressor
