Year: 1976
Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., 5th Ann. Conv., 1976
This paper examines the background that led a
group of American Oil Companies and Pertamina to proceed with installation of the world's
first totally offshore facility in the OffshoreN.W. Java Production Sharing Contract Area
for the recovery of natural gas liquids (NGL). A detaliled process description of each major
component is given, tracing the flow of associated gas from satellite compressor stations
in the Ardjuna Field to a central processing plant, and through to the storage of LPG in a floating refrigerated barge. The paper continues with a brief review of the status of construction, analysis of costs and concludes with some observations on the operation of the satellite compressor stations.
