3D Modelling Subsurface Mapping Application to Fluvial Meandering Blocky Sand 35-1 Reservoir, nindi Oil Field, Asri Basin, South East Sumatera

Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., 36th Ann. Conv., 2012

The Nindi Oil field, produces from fluvial meandering sandstonesof Asri basin, the hydrocarbon accumulations occur in the complex blocky sand 35-1 reservoir, controlled structure and lithology The structural/stratigraphic complexity make reservoir prediction difficult. Structural 3D modeling of the field was used to constrain the sparse spike inversion, thereby solving the reservoir prediction problems related to complex faulting. The inversion results show that the impedance data volume, which is constrained by complex fault models, could predict the reservoir properties proximal to the faults. This method greatly improves the reliability of inversion results in the faulted areas. Based on the inversion and attribute analysis, it possible to predict the reservoir distribution and differentiate favorable zones for production. Exploration drilling, based on well deployment from this research illustrates the effectiveness of the 3Dmodelling technique. Key Words : Nindi Oil Field, Blocky Sand 35-1, Fluvial Meandering.
