A conceptual model for evaluating potential of geothermal fields
Year: 1985
Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., 14th Ann. Conv., 1985
This paper describes a conceptual model for geothermal reservoirs which could be useful for preliminary evaluation purposes. The model is formulated from geologic and reservoir properties and temperature distribution and then used to develop a set of characteristic performance curves relating production temperature to net heat produced.Key factors which influence the performance and ultimate heat recovery from geothermal fields are discussed. Examples are presented to illustrate the modelling procedure and how to use the resulting models for evaluating geothermal potential. The results from the conceptual model are compared with those from numerical reservoir simulation techniques.
