Isogons are construction lines that link points of identical orientation in a stack of folded surfaces (Bengtson, 1967, Ramsey, 1967, Ramsey and Huber, 1987). In two dimensional geologic cross sections, the isogons connect points on the folded beds that have the same .apparent dip in the line of section (for example, 20 degrees to the left on the section). Isogons can be an important tool for the analysis of inversion structures, like those common to the region of South East Asia.
