Based on ASME PCC-2, one of method of pipe repair that will be considered as locally permanent repair is installation of double sleeve, but not everyone familiar with how to install it without significant of Lost Production Opportunity (LPO). This situation once happen in Belida Platform in May 2018, which caused Unplanned Shutdown for several days. How to install double sleeve on bad corrosion due to thinning pipe, leaks, pitting etc. especially for inconvenient location such as leak on splash zone area and high temperature pipeline. Frankly speaking, to install this double sleeve is easy and simple as long as we can combine knowledge in engineering with basic safety in field construction. Knowing code ASME PCC-2 that lead us to select proper and convenience pipe repair methods. Implementing basic principle of Hot Tap will allow us to execute welding activity on live pipeline without shutting down. And considering to �Flame Triangle� (3 material that will trigger flame instantly), the double sleeve installation will be executed safely. Benefits of double sleeve installation: � Low cost. � Easy and simple to execute. � Short duration installation. � Accepted as permanent repair as per ASME PCC-2. � No need shut down, can be executed during normal operation (depend on pipe condition).
