Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., 13th Ann. Conv., 1984
Evaluation and detection techniques of fractures have varied widaly both in methodology as well as success. The least expersive method of detection in open holes is by the use of well logs. This paper discusses different wireline logging responses in fractured carbonate reservoirs of the Salawati Basin.Fracture indications on the Gamma Ray, Spontaneous Potential, Resistivity, Neutron, Density, Acoustic and Dip Logs are examined, with examples of each shown. Other indirect detection methods are described and a method of evaluating potential producing zones proposed.
