People Development strategy which contains training and development activities, deployment through challenging job assignment, and career development are reflected in Individual Development Plan (IDP) as employees compass or direction of their career and people development journeys in VICO Indonesia.VICO provides integrated people mapping thru comprehensive potential assessment that measures ability, competencies, and performance to develop the talents and leaders, hence IDP as a development master plan is required to accelerate competency development to support organization capability and future leader needs.IDP is a formal document that identifies an individual's learning and developmental goals. The manager and the individual jointly develop the IDP. This plan contains training, education, and development activities (formal and informal) to acquire the competencies needed to meet IDP goals. The key advantages for employees in developing IDP are among others: improve their job performance, manage their career plan, and prepare for increased responsibility.In this paper by considering IDP is the important tool of people development direction, writer will focus more to highlight its process in more detail including its socialization and communication, clarify roles and responsibilities between line managers and employees in developing IDP, as well as the increasing of HR Department roles as key facilitators to succeed the road of People Development action.
