With the growing number of operating assets in Medco E&P, the technical data managed by each asset grows increasingly complex. Previously, Medco E&P did not have a dedicated system in managing this data, leading to several issues such as inefficient data management, time inefficiency, and avoidable financial losses. Available subsurface data were scattered and managed by individual teams or personnel without a dedicated administrator to organize the data. These issues call for an urgent need to create an automation tool for routine production report, production budget creation, production forecast and outlook as well as introducing data quality control, data standardization, validation process, and a user-friendly application to access, retrieve and analyze subsurface data. The application Petrotechnical Data Management (PTDM) is an integrated web-based platform developed to address these issues and was initiated by a team consisting of professional staff from the Subsurface, Exploration, and Information Services departments. This new in-house application consists of three layers, i.e. database server, application service and end user interface. To avoid data redundancy, the database server is designed to integrate data between existing database systems and Medco E&P’s electronic library. The application services bridge user application and data submission interface to the database server in a web-based end-user interface. PTDM integrates data into a single repository, simplifying access and reducing complexity for users, thus improving time efficiency and overall productivity while delivering significant business value through streamlined data management, innovation, and cost optimization
