Forward modelling allows us to understand the effects of geology and fluid fill on seismic and using geological knowledge within the inversion workflow provides a better reservoir model, and more accurate understanding of volumetrics and uncertainty. We here highlight the steps used to take us from Petrophysics to Reservoir model, we introduce methods to improve the data quality via Seismic Data Conditioning, and we highlight some of the benefits of using a Sequential Gaussian Inversion over more conventional deconvolution style inversion methods.Rock physics provides the bridge between well and seismic data. Being able to forward model multiple scenarios (various fluid fills, porosity and lithology changes) allows us to gain an understanding of reservoir properties away from the well. In this article the Rock Physics link demonstrates how we can gain an understanding of a calcitic-dolomiticsandstone reservoir. Additionally we have been able to highlight and de-risk an up-dip prospect, results of which will appear in a follow up paper. Rock Physics analysis, forward modelling, Joint AVO Stochastic inversion and Bayesian Classification have been key in delineating the reservoir. The workflow below highlights some of the key stages.
