The Effect Of Well Interference On Well Performance In Shale Gas Reservoirs

Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., 36th Ann. Conv., 2012

A shale gas reservoir is a self-contained sourcereservoir system, characterized by extremely low matrix-permeability and low porosity, which typically requires extensive fracturing to produce gas at commercial rates. This paper presents a simulation experiment, intended to study the impact of well interference on gas recovery in a shale gas reservoir. The simulation model was constructed to study well interference through variation of well spacing, horizontal well length, fracture spacing and permeability. The results quantify the impact of well interference on gas recovery.
