There exists significant opportunities within the Asia-Pacific region for companies to find, develop and produce resources to fuel expected GDP growth against a background of falling liquids supply. The number of assets available has stabilized, with the most being in Australia and Indonesia. Across the Asia-Pacific region both transaction activity and implied valuations increased in 2017. This indicates that, while disciplined due diligence is still required, companies are looking to selectively add to their asset base and the industry is coming into a “once in a cycle” portfolio building opportunity.
