Medco E&P Natuna Ltd. (Medco E&P Natuna) has developed for its facilities a Planning & Scheduling - Shutdown Guideline. This guideline covers the initiation, planning, execution and reporting of planned shutdowns with the aim to assure the process and to manage expectations; including production losses and the standard of efficient process for shutdown work. The guideline starts with a recommended timeline to initiate the shutdown plan, and then moves onto determination of recommended milestones with structured deliverables for each, ensuring quality assurance of planning and execution, reporting and the KPI process. An After-Action-Review (AAR) provides inputs for continuous improvement of the guideline to secure safe and successful execution of shutdowns in the following years. This guideline has been shared through a knowledge sharing process.to other Medco Energi Indonesia assets in Senoro, DS LNG, and Lematang to improve the quality of their planning and scheduling system. Application of the guideline has improved the Medco E&P Natuna Total Shutdown 2018 Plan in terms of reduced duration, improved functional collaboration and smooth start-up. This avoided a deferral of production of 285,702 BOE (199,321 BBLS and 463 BBTU).
